Mingling in the social atmosphere, catering to the needs of guests, and overseeing the production of the several tasks in order to carry out a successful restaurant, are my passions. I chose HRIM immediately when asked to choose a major. After working at a very reputable and well-known restaurant for two and a half years, The Boat House, I realized just how much I love the industry and all of the pros and cons coming with it. Whether it is assisting the bartender in making tropical drinks, seating and greeting guests, bussing the tables, or even expediting in the kitchen, I enjoy taking part in all tasks, so that the restaurant runs smoothly and guests are more than satisfied. Hospitality is my passion, and that is why I am an HRIM major. I know that I will learn everything I need to know, in order to be successful, right here at Penn State in the College of Health and Human Development. The job market is currently rising in this field, and the outlook is very positive in this industry. My goals are to graduate from Penn State with a Bachelor of Sciences in HRIM, and partake in as many internships as possible. Ultimately I want to move to Laguna Beach, and be the general manager of a stylish, successful restaurant on the water. The view, and city in general is absolutely breathtaking. It is a little costly, but I would work seventy hour weeks just to be able to reside there.
