There is an article from CNN.com entitled, "More people turning to hypnosis for weight loss". I admit that I love food, but some of the things people do to lose weight, are a little absurd. It is great that people love to eat and enjoy food, but go exercise afterwards. If I turned to hypnosis, I would be ashamed of myself, because that represents no determination or drive. Realize that not all exercise involves vigorous workout. Yoga and Pilates involving breathing and stretching. It doesn't involve cardio of any kind. There are numerous ways to burn fat or gain muscle. It simply takes a little will power and motivation. It is sad that some people have to turn to hypnosis because there is so much out there for everyone to be healthy, you just have to take action. I believe a lot of this problem has to do with the way you are raised. If your mother let you have every piece of candy you wanted before dinner, and never controlled your habits, what makes you think you will. Discipline is the key factor, and it does not come over night. Binge eating is normal to some when stressful or depressing situations arise, and there is no will power to stop it. I know it is hard to resist the temptation of seeing a McDonalds or Taco Bell, but health is more important above desire. The majority of American society just needs to learn a little bit of control, and it will be fine.

I completely agree with you about the need for people to stop searching for short cuts, when they know the obvious solution to their problems. If you know you love to eat and you don't want to gain weight, you should just balance it out with excercise. Hypnosis, just like diet pills are gimmicks that almost never works, but people are still addicted to them anyway.

Also I would like to add people are too concerned about losing weight. I think that the problem is not how much you weigh, but how you feel about yourself. There's nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight, but some people often take it too far because they have it in their heads that thinner is always better. I have a lot of friends that barely weigh a hundred pound but are certain that they are just "too fat".
